Emergency Broadband Benefit

You could qualify for FREE internet through RiverNet Connect!

Unity and teamwork concept.The EBB program is administered by the Federal Communications Commission and aims to provide access to broadband internet in response to the increased demand brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program offers a $50 credit for monthly internet services, but RiverNet has decided to provide further assistance by offering the Basic Residential package for FREE for households that qualify for the program.

You might be surprised who is eligible for the Emergency Broadband Benefit:

  • Families with school-aged children who receive free or reduced lunch.
  • Recipients of a federal Pell Grant which could include dual-enrollment students and college students
  • Individuals enrolled in Lifeline programs such as SNAP, SSI, Medicaid, etc.
  • Households with a significant, documented loss of income since February 2020
  • Individuals meeting the criteria for low income or COVID-19 relief program in South Carolina

Complete the application at the link below to check your eligibility. Once accepted, contact RiverNet to complete the process.

Determining your eligibility is easy. Simply apply on GetEmergencyBroadband.org and select “Lynches River Communications” as your provider. Upon completing the application, you should receive a notification of your approval/denial via email. Once approved, simply call the RiverNet Connect customer service line at 843-675-3200.

Customers must be located in an active RiverNet service area to receive this benefit.

This major outreach campaign was launched by the U.S. Department of Education and is administered by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The program will be available until the fund is expended or six months after the COVID-19 health emergency ends. Funds are non-transferable and limited to one per household.
