Eighty years after Lynches River Electric Cooperative was formed to bring electricity to rural communities, our board of trustees voted to begin providing high-speed fiber internet, and RiverNet Connect was born.
We believe every house and every dirt road in our community deserves to access the same high-quality internet available to people in urban areas, and our mission is to do just that.
RiverNet Connect's fiber optic internet brings a new standard of rural broadband to Lancaster, Chesterfield, and Kershaw counties. With fiber, data is sent up to 1,000 times faster than copper and can reach Gigabit (1,000 Mbps) speeds. Fiber is better at handling streaming from multiple devices, cutting down on buffering and stalling, even during peak connection times.
Lynches River is the third South Carolina electric cooperative to start a fiber internet subsidiary, following in the footsteps of Mid-Carolina and Newberry.
